Thanksgiving Weekend

Our Thanksgiving weekend was full of excitement! We spent Wednesday evening at my sister's with our immediate family. Noisy, but fun! That was also the night we met Samantha and Lizzie...more to come on that story!

Thanksgiving Day we headed to my aunt and uncle's house in Lakewood for dinner, lots of conversation, and games. I always love being around our big family! Houston is still getting used to the 15 conversations at once, but it just seems natural to me.

There are usually lots of kiddos running around - they had a great time playing in the guest room with toys and jumping out of the closet. The boys would yell at the top of their lungs and the older girls would laugh at them - which, of course, meant they kept it up for a while!

After a yummy potluck dinner we played a few games and just enjoyed our time together. My aunt Dawn and her family were even up from California! Yea!

Friday night we got dressed to head for a night out in Seattle!! I gave Houston tickets to Straight No Chaser for his birthday and it was finally time for the show!

We got to Benaroya Hall in plenty of time, so we wandered down the street to a little restaurant for a bite and a drink. We headed in because it said "Margarita Bar" on the sign....what we actually stumbled into was a Mexican/Italian restaurant with tiny tables and edible, but forgettable food. My mango margarita was yummy, though! =}

The show was absolutely wonderful! SNC is an a capella group that does great arrangements and often adds humor to their songs. The guys were so fun and left us wanting more. I was so disappointed when the show was over, but then we realized they'd been on stage for an hour and half. They were even gracious enough to sit and sign autographs or just chat with the entire audience after the show.

I can't wait until they come back in May - there's a not so subtle hint for my birthday!!

Saturday morning we got into our leathers and headed off on Sylvia for a benefit poker run. Some friends had organized the run in honor of Officer Brenton who was killed in Seattle on Halloween. We ended up with around 120 bikes, several officers that rode with us and kept traffic under control, and raised a nice amount of money for Officer Brenton's family. We even had a news crew following us around. You can see Houston and I at about 1:40 into the video of the ride that aired on the news that night.

We stopped at the capitol before ending the ride and paid our respects at the Law Enforcement Memorial. It was a great ride, fun with friends, and a wonderful way to show our support of a fallen officer.

Thanks to Mom, Shannon, and Tiffany for keeping our boys so we could enjoy this weekend to the fullest!
