A Day at the Zoo

I love spending a day at the zoo, but we usually only make it about once a year. This summer was so busy that we probably wouldn't have made it at all if my MOPS group hadn't planned a day during the week!

Of course, my sister and I were late, so we didn't get to wander the zoo with all of our MOPS friends. We did get to enjoy some of it together, though, and bumped into a couple of MOPS moms throughout the day.

One of my favorite things lately has been the live animal show. They've changed it this year, but they still have some of the birds fly over your head - this time we sat directly under a flight path, which was fun and kept Tucker enthralled!

We also brought Joey's buddy, Dallis, along for the day. Dallis and Joey have been friends since third grade and I adore his mom, Debbie. They're a great family and Dallis has a great sense of humor - he fits right in around here!
Tucker really enjoyed looking at all the animals and deciding which ones were the Mama and Daddy. =} I think he would have been perfectly happy sitting at any of the enclosures for the whole day.

It was a pretty warm day, so while we waited for the Budgies to return (those darn birds never came near the seed sticks!) we grabbed a cool treat.
Ice cream is always a good way to keep my guys happy!

After a quick trip to the souvenir shop
(with a budget that mama could live with),
we all left tired, happy, and a little sticky!
