It's true! It's just amazing to watch Joey's fingers move, his elegant bowing, and the serious look that comes over his face when he plays. This is his first year playing in the orchestra and he's done great! I was so thrilled when he chose the bass - it transfers easily to other types of music (at this point he'd like to get into jazz) and is so nice to listen to when it's time to practice!
The 5th grade orchestras in his district had a concert earlier this month...
Out of all these instruments, he's the only bass!

for real - is he 6 feet tall already? how did that happen? i totally miss you!
Stringed instruments are tough to master...it sounds like he's off to a great start!
Em - he isn't six feet yet, but he's just about my height and has bigger feet than me! And I miss you, too!!
Sarabeth - He really is doing great and the bass is very forgiving - it still sounds good even if he misses a note! :)
